Twilight

Wavering, trembling
Tenuously between
The dark and the light
Painting coral auroras
And sinking crimsons
Abducting moods
Lost in daylight's
Rush

Waking
Night's dream
Vulnerable perilous
Unable to choose
Between night's cavity
And day's fervor
Sometimes cloaked
In ebony clouds

Bursting
With life, turmoil
Dusk and Dawn
Gauging day's promise
Whispering night's hollow
Twinning adversaries
Raising our hopes
Sealing our fates.

A Sudden Burst

Of cold air
Raising the hairs
On on the back of my neck
Goose bumps run down
My tingling arms
An orb appears drifting
Across my bedroom wall
Unannounced unexpected
Casting a shift-changing
Eerie dark shadow
Blocking my window's
Flickering moon-lit sky

Could be a departed
Loving family member or
An old dear friend
I once knew, loved
Just checking in
Saying hello, goodbye
Remembering, missing
Our time shared
Warning me of danger
Still protecting me

Is it a lost soul
Haunted trapped
By spirit's gravity
Unable to crossover
Its consciousness
Lost
Unwilling
To forget, forgive
Wanting to be more
Than just a memory.

Shattered

Unable to comprehend
Why your dreams
Could not come true
Running out of steam

Still unable to let go
Only wanting to believe
Fighting minds undertow
Facing the night all alone

Unable to sleep under
Timeless shadows weight
Ashamed, undressed
No longer able to cheat

Her reality trapped, exposed
Her mind drugged, swimming
Her feelings drained, spent
Her breath short, congested
Her heart sinking, bleeding
Her faith unwrapped, exposed

Dreams swallowed, spitting
Out hope's light.

Indigo

Wouldn't admit goodbye
That night whispering
Only goodnight
With one last kiss
One trembling embrace
Her eyes looking down
She closed the door
Leaving me behind
In hallways sorry light

It was time for her
To leave, forget
And  simply move on
Boarding a Dash 9
At morning's early light
Heading back to Saskatoon

 Leaving our skies far
Behind, never again to
Hold, feel or imagine
That what could have been

Could never truly have been
So long ago.

Nowhere To Turn

The sun's last rays
Could not have seen
Her tears or sorrow
Nor her emptiness

Her loss beyond
Heart's comprehension
Her faith shattered
Unable to understand

Why a God believed
So loving so caring
Did not hear her prayers
Wondering why

This almighty God
Needs so many more
Souls to comfort His
Desires.

Without Tomorrow

Relaxed at ease
Trusting her instinct
Forgiving at peace
Fully complete

Stealing the night
Without any fear
Or daunting fright
Her mind clear

Pleasantly numb
Her heart aglow
No longer a victim
Of sorrow.
